MoviesVideoseite (deutsche Version)
Here is a small selection of Quicktime-videos (16bit colour), featuring aquatic life from the little pond in the backyard of our Zoology building. I have also included two movies of world's most famous nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, magnified with a binocular. Last, a fieldtrip (German only) and a little Bryce-QuicktimeVR are presented. In order to speed the download up (and to keep your impatience down), this page has only the title-pictures of the movies. You have to click on the appropriate links, "High Quality" or "Quickload". Both versions only differ in Quality (picturesize, frames per second, detail-degradation due to higher compression).
To the English homepage "Aquatic Ecology" Due to the many details in the movies, I chose the Quicktime "Photo-Jpeg" compression algorithm. Any computer below a 486 66MHZ or a 68040 33Mhz will have problems keeping up with decompression. You can always download the movie and play it locally from your harddrive (just hold the mouse over the movie and select "save movie as...").
No Quicktime Plug-in?The left link (this pun only works in German) leads you to Apple's Quicktime page.
